Philip Quesnelle
Phil is a level 2 trained indoor coach with 30+ years experience in competitive level volleyball. Phil has been coaching with the Cubs since 2013 and has over 10 years experience as a volunteer coach in elementary and high schools in Barrie. Phil has also been coaching at Camp Celtic since 2016 and is active in the community organizing volleyball related fundraising events in support of the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie. Phil is also the current president of the Georgian Cubs.

Reg Jang
Reg Jang is a level 2 certified/level 3 trained indoor coach, is a former president of the Georgian Cubs, and has been a key contributor to volleyball in the Barrie area for over two decades. 
Reg has been coaching with the Cubs for over 18 years, most recently coaching 17U and 18U teams. Reg also coached elementary school teams for over 20 years, and is a former coach at Madawaska sports camp. 
In addition to coaching, Reg is also a level 2 provincial official for both indoor and beach volleyball.

Daryl O'Brien

Daryl O'Brien is one of the senior coaches in the Cubs organization. Daryl is a level 3 trained indoor coach, a level 2 trained beach coach, and has been coaching with the Cubs since 2011. Daryl brings a wealth of experience to the club having coached high school teams for 20 years, beach volleyball for 15 years and over 10 years as a head coach at Camp Madawaska. Daryl has also been one of the architects of the Cubs' beach program and is a past director of Firebird Community Cycle, a non-profit organization dedicated to making cycling accessible to all.

Andrea Bray
Andrea Bray brings a wealth of experience to the Cubs organization. After her club and high school career, Andrea travelled to Slovakia to compete in the World Junior Volleyball Championships. Andrea went on to play 4 years at Mohawk College where she was named most improved player in her first year and then became a two time OCAA all-star. In her final year at Mohawk, Andrea finished 4th in OCAA scoring, won team MVP honours and was named to the OCAA All-Star Dream Team. Andrea has experience coaching girls at the high school level, at Olympia and Celtic sports camps, and has been an assistant coach at Georgian College.

Jason White​

Jason White joins the Cubs coaching staff for the 2018/19 season. Jason played volleyball at Pickering's Dunbarton High School and was a member of the Durham Attack volleyball club. Jason then played post-secondary volleyball at Durham College, where he was an OCAA regular season and championship all-star, and then moved on to play at York University. Jason has coached at Madawaska volleyball camp and is also an assistant coach for a regional 12U ringette team.

Rick Bianco
Rick Bianco is a level 1 trained indoor coach. Rick played varsity men's volleyball for the Georgian Grizzlies and began coaching in the Cubs organization in 1996. Rick has worked with girls and boys teams ranging in age from 13U to 17U. Rick is also a Level 3 Regional Official and has been officiating volleyball in the Barrie area for over 20 years.

Scott Swartz
Scott is an experienced indoor volleyball player, having played both club and Varsity volleyball with the Georgian Grizzlies.
Scott is a trained Level 1 coach and has been coaching with the Cubs for over 10 years.

Aislinn Latour
Aislinn Latour played NCAA Div 1 Women's Volleyball at Central Michigan University and Canisius College, earning Academic All-American Honours in 2002 and 2003. In addition to coaching at volleyball camps while in the NCAA, Aislinn has several years experience coaching elementary school volleyball and rugby in Barrie and is also a certified high jump coach. Aislinn continues to play competitive volleyball in women's and coed leagues and tournaments in the Barrie area. Aislinn has coached with the Cubs since the 2021/2022 season.

Geoff Miller
The gentle giant of the Cubs comes with an impressive resume.
As the setter and team captain at Western University, Geoff was an OUA all-star, 2nd team all-Canadian, and twice helped lead the Mustangs into the national championship tournament. After his playing career at Western, Geoff was invited to the Team Canada selection camp where he had the opportunity to learn under legendary Canadian coach Garth Pischke.
Geoff has been coaching youth and elementary school volleyball in Barrie since 2005 and joined the Cubs coaching staff for the 2021/22 season.

Barb McCarthy
Barb McCarthy is a level 1 certified volleyball coach with over 15 years experience coaching girls and boys high school teams. Barb has coached with the Cubs since 2018 and in addition to volleyball. Barb is also trained in coaching gymnastics, diving and soccer. Barb draws on her passion for the game along with her experience as a teacher and former club player to help grow the next generation of young athletes.

Dave Brewer is a Level 1 Trained volleyball coach and is has been coaching with the Cubs since 2015. Dave has been playing competitive level volleyball for 30+ years and loves sharing his passion for the game with our young players.​

Benny Lopez
Benny Lopez is a Level 1 certified volleyball coach with over 35 years of experience as a volleyball player and coach. Benny has been coaching with the Cubs since 2014.

Jeff Casey
Coach Jeff is from a long time Barrie volleyball family. Jeff played club and high school volleyball before playing junior varsity at University of Guelph. Jeff is now a high school volleyball and rugby coach, and has been coaching with the Cubs since the 2020/2021 season.

Josh de Groot
Josh De Groot studied Physical Education at Brock University and was a varsity soccer athlete while attending teacher's college at Griffith University in Brisbane Australia. Josh continued to play competitively in the Ontario Soccer League until 2012. Josh has many years experience coaching volleyball, soccer, badminton and many other sports at the elementary and high school levels.

Jeff Flear​
Jeff Flear has been coaching with the Cubs since 2015. Jeff has over 20 years experience playing volleyball at a competitive level, including earning a silver medal at OFSAA with Innisdale SS and playing OVA Region 5 men's volleyball.

Dani Tamm
Danielle (Dani) Tamm is originally from Clearwater, Florida and moved to Barrie in 2015. While in Florida, Dani was an assistant coach with Stetson University's indoor team and was director of operations for their beach program. Dani has also coached with four clubs in Florida including a 15U national team with Power Volleyball Academy. Dani has completed American certifications that would be equivalent to a Canadian level 2, she has been coaching at Camp Celtic since 2016, and has been coaching 15U-18U Cubs since 2015. Dani is also a mental health counsellor and yoga instructor with experience in mindfulness training and meditation exercises which she incorporates into her volleyball programs.

Marty Lancaster
Marty Lancaster is a former setter for the McMaster University men's volleyball team. Marty has been coaching girls and boys high school volleyball for over 15 years and has more than 10 years of experience as part of the coaching staff at Camp Celtic. Marty has been coaching with the Cubs since 2015.

Bev MacDonald
Bev MacDonald is a Level 1 trained volleyball coach and has been coaching with the Cubs since 2015. Prior to joining our club, Bev coached with the Barrie Elites for 6 years and coached youth soccer for 10 years. Bev's passion is coaching and mentoring young women, on and off the court. Beyond the game of volleyball, Bev is an advocate for women's and worker's rights, she is the President of the Barrie Regional Women's Committee, the treasurer of the Barrie Area Council, and is involved in many other councils and community groups.
